Weedspotter Training in the North East

Please find attached information about two upcoming Weed Spotter training sessions, planned for October 16th 2008 at DPI Wodonga. Introductory training from 9am - 11am. Advanced training from 1.30pm - 4.30pm. If interested in attending, please RSVP by October 10th 2008.

RE: Call for expressions of interest - Weed Spotter training North East region…

 

Free Weed Spotter training sessions are offered to all registered Weed Spotters at various times throughout the year. There are two types of training, one basic and one a little more advanced – see below for more information on which session may suit your needs.

 

If you feel that you may benefit from either of the training sessions listed below and are available on the dates provided, please rsvp by October 10th 2008 to secure a place. Training sessions are limited to 15 people, and sessions will only go ahead if there is sufficient interest from Weed Spotters in the North East region.

 

Introductory Training

What is it?

Basic information about Weed Alert, how you can help find new and emerging weeds, how to submit weed reports and key weeds to look out for.

 

Who is it for?

Weed Spotters who have not yet attended a presentation or training event and would like a general introduction to Weed Alert and the role of a Weed Spotter, and for people who are not yet registered as Weed Spotters but want to know more.

Advanced Training

What is it?

More detailed information about Weed Alert, weed biology, how to effectively record field information to make accurate weed reports and more in-depth weed identification skills.

 

Who is it for?

People who already have a good grasp of weed spotting and want skills to help with finding and reporting Weed Alert species, as well as for those who have done introductory training and want to brush up further on their skills (Please note that advanced training can be done without having completed introductory training).
