Fifteeen Trees works with Landcare to plant trees
Fifteen Trees is a new company who believes we can all make a contribution towards a cleaner, greener environment. Fifteen Trees works with companies to create an arrangement for them to negative gear the use of their vehicles on an annual basis. At present our cars contribute approximately 17% of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere (mainly in the form of carbon dioxide). A small to medium car generates roughly 4 tonnes of carbon every year, and over their lifetime 15 trees will capture that amount of carbon dioxide.
bikeTREES joins the team
Together we can make a difference! bikeTREES is a self funded, bike industry based tree planting and reforestation program which aims to improve the world we live in by planting trees as an offset. The plan is simple. Every time we sell a bikeTREE, we plant a real tree. This is in its simplest form a basic carbon offset. Whether it be for the freight component of a bike-related product being distributed, an offset for riders entering into an event or, in the case of a media outlet, an offset against posting a subscribed to publication. Goods, equipment and services bearing the bikeTREES trademark indicate that part of the purchase price will include either a full tree or part funding for a tree to be planted. Thinking green is good. Being green is better. bikeTREE are very passionate about this endeavour and so far have donate $10,000 to help the Ovens Valley Landcare Network to plant in their region. So far the project has been a great success within the Ovens Valley community with further plantings planned for 2013 with assistance from bikeTREES. If you go to a bike event or know of a race in your area encourage them to participate in bikeTREES to help cover the foot print of the event.
