2007 - 2008 Salinity Program
Targetting Dryland Salinity, this New Generation Landcare Funded Project looks at rehabilitating areas of saline land through the use of native vegetation and / or perennial salt tolerant pastures in discharge sites (Living with Salt).
Corridors for Tiger Quolls!
Anecdotal evidence of Spot Tailed Quolls was followed up by the DSE in 1995 who set numerous hair tube traps to sample one of the elusive resident animals. Samples from the hair tubes were confirmed as containing Tiger Quoll hair.
YYLN Perennial Pastures Program
With 10 years of less than average rainfall, the area between Longford and Yarram is suffering from reduced pasture growth. YYLN's Perennial Pastures Program will help to improve soil health and moisture retention through the use of better pasture and grazing management techniques while utilising more drought tolerant pasture and crop species.
